Snap-tite Hose actively participates in the Diversified Occupations program at both Girard High School and Union City High School in Northwest Pennsylvania. In addition to welcoming students to our facilities, representatives from our Human Resources department are members of the DO advisory committees at both schools.
This strong partnership underscores Snap-tite's dedication to fostering educational opportunities and career readiness for local students.
What is the Diversified Occupations Program?
Pennsylvania has multiple Diversified Occupations (DO) programs that combine classroom instruction with on-the-job training to help high school students develop career skills.
Cooperative education allows students to combine academic classroom instruction with occupational instruction through learning on the job in a career area of choice. Emphasis is placed on a student’s education and employability skills. Students can also strive toward obtaining full-time employment upon successful completion of the program and high school graduation.
Bridging Education and Industry
The Diversified Occupations program is designed to provide high school students with real-world work experience and the opportunity to explore career pathways. By working directly with Snap-tite, students gain hands-on exposure to advanced manufacturing processes, product development, and operational excellence in the fluid delivery industry.
"We’re thrilled to support the next generation of skilled professionals," said Jim Novinsky, Snap-tite Hose CEO. "The DO program aligns with our mission to invest in the Northwest Pennsylvania community and inspire students to pursue rewarding careers in manufacturing and technology."

Key Elements of the Program
Students participating in the Diversified Occupations program benefit from a variety of learning experiences, including:
- On-the-Job Training:Practical exposure to Snap-tite's facilities and manufacturing techniques.
- Mentorship Opportunities: Guidance from experienced professionals who provide insights into industry best practices and career development.
- Skill Development: Hands-on projects that enhance technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork.

A Win-Win Collaboration
For Snap-tite, this partnership is an opportunity to nurture a pipeline of skilled talent while strengthening ties with the local community. For students, it’s a chance to develop confidence, gain valuable work experience, and explore potential career paths.
"The Diversified Occupations program opens doors for students to envision themselves in thriving industries," said Antonella Spinelli, DO program coordinator at Girard High School. "We’re proud to work with Snap-tite Hose, a company that truly values community engagement and workforce development."
